Vint B&W MII - Black and White camera App Reviews

Great concept — missing key features.

It pains me to give this app a low rating, as I love the idea of a no-frills black & white camera app. But not all features are frills. The program should save EXIF metadata — time and location. And it should use background processing to make sure photos arent lost if you exit the app while saving. And a few frills wouldnt hurt. It would be nice to adjust the RGB balance of the conversion, and tune contrast (ideally separately for shadows, midtones, and highlights).

Love it!

Really, really love this app. Just like my Canon Rebel film camera - you snap the shot and that is what you get. No stinkin editing needed! Use your creativity and youll get great photos.

Updated needed!

Great app and the pictures come out really good. But after updating to OS 4.3.1 the app keeps crashing.

Great App but...

Change the Icon to a cooler one!!!!

Preview issue

There is an issue with the photo preview displayed prior to saving pic, the photo is truncated/not centered.

Great app and free!

Its easy and looks pretty neat.

Not good , limited fun for 10seconds

Cant bring in it own pics, no control over editing , no options ... Oh yeah NO OPTIONS... Free or not waste of time!

Awesome!

This app is my new obsession! It takes good QUALITY pictures and looks absolutely awesome :)

Too basic.

I mean it does what it says... Makes the picture black and white, but thats about it! Haha You cant even upload your own photo into app. There are no controls or options for contrast or anything. There are so many other free apps out there that will do this AND SO MUCH MORE! Not worth it...

Best B&W Photos for iPhone but...

I love this app. It was one of the first photo apps that I downloaded in 2009 and its been a permanent fixture on my home screen since. It takes the best quality black and white photos out of any app that Ive tried and Ive tried a LOT of photo apps. Im writing this review now because, although I do love this app, I feel that we deserve an update. Nothing major. Just some standard features to improve workflow. Updates that Id like to see include: • Auto Save for continuos shooting so that you dont miss a moment due to processing • Import from camera roll • Volume button shooting Other than these few features, I think the app is simplistically perfect.

Awesome!

This has been my favorite app for b/w photography for the last 2-3 years. The lack of updates and camera roll access has been slightly annoying, but no matter why other apps Ive tried, Ive kept coming back to this one as my default b/w camera app. This one has always come the closest to the the look and feel Im looking for in a b/w photo. Cant wait to start playing with the updates! Thank you so much!

Simple, but awesome!

Despite its lack of options, this app is absolutely the BEST black and white converter Ive used (and Ive tried a lot). It gets the tones right every time. Plus, the new 2013 version lets you use existing shots from your camera roll. Couldnt be happier!

Its alive!!

Holy cow! Wed all thought the developer had abandoned this app since its last update in 2009. What a nice surprise. The original b/w app and still the best today.

Flash?????

Lost the flash! Dont have the option to discard anymore ?

Simple. Too simple.

This app offers zero options. You cant even tap to focus let alone a separate tap to expose. Im all for simplicity but come on!

Front camera view

I want the front camera switch button back on please put it back I loved that

Best B&W App

Hands down best b&w photo app available. Wish I could use the flash then Id give it 5 stars!

Simply wont open on iPad Air

App used to be ok, but now just wont open on the new iPad Aid. You can select photo to edit, but then it immediately crashes. Rebooted device. Deleted app, reinstalled to no avail. Real shame.

Still have not put back in the option to flip the camera, why?

Why did you take out the option (from the original version) to flip the camera from front to back. Every other camera app has this feature. I like to take self portraits. Please put it back in. Thx! Unbelievable! Its been almost 2 years since my initial post (Mar 13, 2013) on this and still no front camera put back in to the software. WTH?

Fails to load from Camera Roll

The app opens on the iPad Air into the camera mode, but when switching to select from the Camera Roll, as soon as an image is selected, it flashes on the screen, and then the app immediately switches back to camera mode.
